South Okanagan Branch Changes

As part of our ongoing enhancements, Interior Savings is making some changes with our South Okanagan branches in 2021.

Effective May 4th, we are opening a new branch in Penticton to serve our members from Penticton and Okanagan Falls.

Our Okanagan Falls location will remain open one day a week, on Wednesdays.

As of February 27th, we have combined our Osoyoos and Oliver branches to serve both communities out of the regional hub location in Oliver.

All services are available at our Oliver Branch location.

We're Moving: Changes in the South Okanagan

As announced last fall, in 2021 we are making some changes in our South Okanagan Branches. We are opening a new branch in the south end of Penticton that will become the primary service location for our Okanagan Falls and Penticton area members. Once the new location opens, branch services in Okanagan Falls will transition to one day a week.

We have also combined our Osoyoos and Oliver branches to serve both communities out of one regional hub location in Oliver.

Adapting to Meet Your Needs

Why are we making these changes? We are adapting to meet the ever-changing needs of our membership. These enhancements will allow us to continue to grow and remain strong throughout the South Okanagan. Our decision to move to the south end of Penticton is in part a result of many members asking us to have a presence in the city. Penticton is increasingly becoming a primary location for shopping, school and work. Our new location will allow us to better serve our members who spend much of their time in the city. We are combining the Osoyoos and Oliver branches to ensure our southernmost branches remain strong – and making a hub branch to serve both communities is the best way for us to do that. We will continue to regularly meet with members in Osoyoos to support their lending and investment needs and are only a call, click or short drive away for all their other needs.

When Will This Take Place?

Our new Penticton Branch will open on May 4th, at which time our Okanagan Falls location will transition to one day a week. The Osoyoos – Oliver transition took place on February 27th.  For members in other communities, there are no changes

Our Commitment to You

All regular services including banking, investments, loans and safety deposit boxes will be available in-branch one day per week, on Wednesdays.

As of May 4th, Penticton will be considered your home branch. However, Okanagan Falls members can continue to do their banking at any one of our 21 branch locations (including Okanagan Falls and Oliver) or through our Member Service Centre, online, mobile or telephone banking. Your cheques, automatic transfers, deposits and bill payments will all continue to work as usual.

All regular services including banking, investments, loans and safety deposit boxes will be available five-days per week.

Please note cash services will work a little differently than you may be used to. The Penticton Branch won’t be accepting or providing cash within the branch. All cash transactions will be made at the branch’s ATM. Our staff will be happy to help with these transaction to ensure you are comfortable with this change.

To align with a decrease in demand for cash services, the Penticton Branch won’t be accepting or providing cash within the branch. Instead, all cash transactions will be available at the branch’s ATM. Our staff will be happy to help with these transactions to ensure you are comfortable with this change.

At our new Penticton Branch, all cash deposits and withdrawals will be handled through our on-site ATM. Our staff members will not be able to receive or dispense cash in the branch, however we are happy to assist members in use of the ATM. Here is what this means for banking using the ATM:

  • Our outdoor ATM will be available 24-7.
  • The ATM will dispense cash in denominations of $5, $20, or $50.
  • If you need to temporarily increase your daily ATM withdrawal limit, please ask our branch staff, or contact our Member Service Centre.

Business members can also deposit cash and coin through our 24-hour night deposit box.

As always, safety deposit boxes will be available at our Okanagan Falls Branch.  If one day a week access is not sufficient, members can open a new safety deposit box at our new location in Penticton or alternatively at our Oliver location.

For larger deposits, or deposits with coin, you are welcome to use the night deposit at our Penticton Branch or, if it’s more convenient, continue to do so at the Okanagan Falls Branch.

Members in Osoyoos can visit our hub-location in Oliver for all regular branch services and to access their safety deposit box. Our members can also use the Osoyoos Credit Union ATM without surcharge.

If you are an Osoyoos business member who requires night deposit services, contact branchchanges@interiorsavings.com as we can arrange for you to use the night deposit box at Osoyoos Credit Union.

The changes allow us to continue to grow and be ready to meet members’ changing needs and expectations. Moving to the south end of Penticton is in part a response to the many members who have asked us to have a presence in the city. Our new location will allow us to serve our members in Penticton and the surrounding area. We are combining the Osoyoos and Oliver branches to ensure our southernmost branches remain strong – and making Oliver a regional hub branch to serve both communities is the best way for us to do that.

Our goal is to make the experience as seamless as possible for you. There will be no changes to your account number or cheques. Your account will function as usual. The only change you will encounter is a new location for your home branch. If you have a safety deposit box, we will reach out to discuss your options. In addition to our Oliver and Penticton branches, and continued service one day a week in Okanagan Falls, there are many ways we can support your banking needs without you needing to leave your home, including telephone support, online and mobile banking and investment and mortgage specialists who can come to you.

We will continue to serve you through our two South Okanagan regional branches and the satellite location in Okanagan Falls, as well as our Member Service Centre, telephone and online banking, and ATMs. Our Mortgage and Investment Specialists and Commercial Account Managers will continue to travel throughout the region to meet you at your convenience.

Our new Penticton Branch will open on May 4th, at which time our Okanagan Falls location will transition to one day a week service, open Wednesdays. The Osoyoos – Oliver transition took place on February 27th.

No, there are no other changes planned for other community branches.

As always, community is at the heart of Interior Savings. While our branch addresses may be changing, our commitment to all of our South Okanagan communities is not. We will continue to invest in and support the many worthwhile organizations and initiatives that are in the region.
